Another Caracara taking off in the evening.

An image from “my” new Upper Austrian location ...

This younger one was a little separated from his herd and looked a bit confused to me as the night fell in. But finally he managed to reunite with the flock.

Some fresh fern sprouting between the rocks at the lakeside.

This image shows a chess flower at the Hungarian border where most of them grow much taller than the ones in Styria.

Thick rain clouds right before the night fell in.

… and the complementary colors of the moss covered rocks and the red leaves make great subjects.

Again we witnessed a stunning colored sky spectacle on one of the numerous lakes. This time right as the moon rose.

A big buck staring me down.

The shallow waters make it very easy to cross the river every now and then.

Put on your best dress and place yourself in the best light ;)

After a wonderful and clear full moon night some lovely clouds appeared as the sun came up.

Superb conditions for the creation of some backlit photographs.

Hope I could give you a little insight what it looks like at this wonderful lake. But I guess at least most of the Upper Austrian people already know the place ;) Cheers.

The night falls in in the forest of the Snowdrops.

… where also lots of other orchids, like this White Helleborine, can be found in early summer.

Shooting from a very low angle away from the low sun can also create very interesting sceneries.

In the meantime I was working on some other stuff, which will be shown here someday, of course ;) Thanks for dropping by again. Have a good day!

The first sunrise was already super delightful. Everything was covered in dew and as the sun rose the magic began.

Busy duck in the wetlands at sunrise.

There’s really nothing better than the first warming rays of the sun after a cold and windy photo session at dawn.

Nice environment to live in.

And just as in 2014 this trip was also one of my most successful ones. Actually I have no problem with being patient and waiting motionless most of the time when it comes to wildlife photography, but nevertheless I deeply enjoyed the fact that I could move around and shoot almost all day long. Not least because the weather and light conditions were also good most of the time. I only had to deal with a few hours of blue skies and harsh light.

Colorful delights along the Aist River.

The valley of Rio de las Vueltas not far from the village of El Chaltén as the night falls in.

Although there will be a second series on this topic, of course I could only capture a very few impressions of this part of Patagonia. As everywhere there would be so much more to explore and I guess I have to go there again for a couple of times. As everywhere ;)

The rising sun chases away the fog of the night and unveils the landscape.

Not the worst location to spend some hours before having a coffee, I guess ;)

The population in Lower Austria in 2016 was really large and healthy I guess.
