I'm very excited to announce, that my image "His Holiness" was awarded in the mammals category of the Nature Photographer of the Year 2018 competition and is currently displayed at the Nature Talks Photo Festival in the Netherlands. This is already my 9th international award this year, which is actually pretty crazy :) Check out all the other great awarded photographs in this online gallery. Congratulations to everyone else!

Due to the extremely dazzling light while shooting straight towards the sun I actually took this image blind with my eyes closed.

Thursday, 18 October 2018

For the first time one of my images was awarded at the prestigious Oasis Photo Contest this year. I'm very happy and honored my photograph "Malcolm", showing two adult Guanacos in Chile, convinced the jury. As always I highly recommend to take a look at all the awarded photographs. The selection is quite fantastic and I'm proud to be part.

Gentle roughness part III

Tuesday, 4 September 2018

While summer in Austria slowly comes to an end and I'm already looking forward to my upcoming autumn experiences, I would like to share my last series of landscape impressions from Corsica which have been taken in late spring. There're still a view panoramas and wildlife images of this trip left, which I will show here later some day. All in all I have to say, Corsica really impressed us with its rough but very appealing and beautiful montane vistas, first of all the areas along the Asco Valley.

Gentle roughness part III

The night gently fades and the soft light of dawn slowly illumintas the scenery. This spot was probably my favorite location during the whole trip.

One of those numerous mountain streams running down into the valley.

Red rocks and vivid green vegetation providing a great contrast.

A tiny puddle on a rock full of lichens reflects the glowing peaks.

Finally the cold light of the morning vanishes and the warm light of the rising sun takes over. Always a great experience.

Once more the grace of a drenched landscape during some heavy rain.

A spectacular sunrise over the sea, witnessed from the far distance high up in the mountains of the Col de Bavella. As you can see, the entire water surfaces is painted in shades of pink.

The amazing shaped rocks a this coastline look even more fascinating when they're lightened up by the first sun of the upcoming day.

The beauty of a short break during two days of intense rain.
