Thursday, 21 November 2019

Sorry for boring you with this image, but I'm happy to announce, that "Cosmic Peter" did it again and was awarded as the 1st Honorable Mention in the "Small Worlds" category of this year's Cádiz Nature Photography Competition. Thanks so much to the jury, what an honor :) Please check out all the awarded works here online.

Cádiz 2019

As I took this image I already thought that it might be some kind of special, so I'm pretty happy, that it finally scceeded twice.

Although "Cosmic Peter" wasn't successful in the 2019 Austrian Nature Photograher of the Year competition, I'm also pleased to let you know, that I came out as the Overall Winner and "Austrian Nature Photographer of the Year 2019". And since this was my first participation in this contest, I also received the award of the "Newcomer of the Year 2019". Many thanks, very much appreciated! You can find all the awarded images of this competition here on the website of the VTNÖ. Enjoy!

Just returned from the MontPhoto Fest in Spain last week and pretty excited to announce, that "Cosmic Peter" won the Other Animals category in this year's competition. Thanks so much everyone for the fantastic and inspiring festival and for having me. Of course, I highly recommend to check out all the awarded works.

Just a simple handheld shot, taken without any special technique or the use of artificial light and dedicated to my brother Peter.

Gentle and colorful part II

Monday, 30 September 2019

As you can see both parts of this set again come simultaneously. All shown photographs have also been taken already backin 2018, but didn't fit into any of my former postings. Hope you like them anyway. Cheers.

Gentle and colorful part II

New life side by side with some remains of the last year.

While I was just happily shooting these wonderful aligned two Wood Anemones and the fast moving reflections in their background, all of a sudden this Honey Bee showed up in my viewfinder and I just pressed the shutter twice and was extremely lucky to capture the flying insect right above the blossom and sharp at f2.8, looking into my direction and with one fleeting dot of light in its background.

One of my favorite orchids in a meadow full of other flowers during a rainy day in early June.

An image of a brave Christmas Rose from March 2018 as the temperatures constantly fell below -10°C.

Actually I don't know many places where Snowdrops and Common Hepaticas can be found blooming side by side like in this little forest in Upper Austria. So, I'm happy, I found this lovely setting as the sun went down.

The water in the background reflects the different colors of the surroundings.

Unmown meadows, which can be found in some parts of mountain areas, provide countless floral treasures.
