Boiling floors - New Zealand part XXIV

(Since, as you all probably know already, my main goal is to raise awareness for the importance of wild nature by showing it in my images, it seems important to me to display some of the pictures, of course. Unfortunately I still just cannot find the time to write the articles I would like to here on my website for all my series of images. So I decided to show the upcoming sets of images just with a very few words instead of not showing them at all. Sorry for that. Hope you enjoy the pictures nevertheless and may they hopefully speak for themselves. And of course, your thoughts and feedback are welcome anytime.) The series you can see in this blog entry shows some images of New Zealand's well known geothermal areas on the north island.

Surreal colors on the water surface. Just never forget to pay attention to the small things.

The energy to heat up an entire lake like this must be just immense.

A little wonderland created by all the sediments of geothermal streams.

A fern leaf finally vanishes in the hot waters.

Looks actually pretty inviting, but I guess it's not a good idea to go for a swim.

Very well known pool, but nevertheless still also very fascinating.

The series you can see in this blog entry shows the second set of some rather mixed impressions I took on different locations along New Zealand's west coast.

Dark waters embraced by extreme diverse vegetation.

Scattering coastal fog created a lovely atmosphere while we took a short rest along the way.

After days of rain, the skies finally cleared up.

Ancient worlds.

I don't know what actually causes this "wooden graveyard", but it was very fascinating to me, that it was surrounded by lots of living trees of quite different ages and that there was also this little creek running through all the fallen logs.

What a wonderful setting of silence and nativeness.

Rivers, streams and lakes are actually by far the best opportunities to get a little view into these extremely dense woods.

The series you can see in this blog entry shows the first set of some rather mixed impressions I took on different locations along New Zealand's west coast.

On this occasion I would also like to point out to the Landschaftsfotografie Podcast Episode 49, I had the pleasure to record with Nicolas Alexander Otto. But please notice that this one is in German.

As far as I know, the Pororari River is mainly known for its cristal clear waters. But we experienced it after extreme rain falls, which swept away the bridge between Franz Josef and Fox Glacier (the only connection between south and north on the entire west coast), just one day after we crossed it. Beautiful anyway.

Sometimes a little rock at the beach ist enough to display nature's beauty.

Dark, calm waters can provide a perfect reflection.

I guess this is how the woods looked as dinosaurs roamed them.

For me, this scenery was actually quite perfect. No way to pay justice to it with this image.
