Floral pleasures

Tuesday, 21 July 2020

(Since, as you all probably know already, my main goal is to raise awareness for the importance of wild nature by showing it in my images, it seems important to me to display some of the pictures, of course. Unfortunately I still just cannot find the time to write the articles I would like to here on my website for all my series of images. So I decided to show the upcoming sets of images just with a very few words instead of not showing them at all. Sorry for that. Hope you enjoy the pictures nevertheless and may they hopefully speak for themselves. And of course, your thoughts and feedback are welcome anytime.) The series you can see in this blog entry shows some none-lady's-slipper floral impressions I captured already back in 2019 during my Lady's Slipper Orchid trips.

Floral pleasures

There are lots of quite underrated flowers out there. And I think this is one of them.

Interesting reflection on a small puddle of water.

Some blossoms in front of a little montane stream.

Smaller orchids are often very well hidden in the high grass of early summer.

Floral disco in the late morning hours.

A little field of Marsh Orchids for my pleasure.

Actually I always prefer shooting towards the light.

Buttercups mostly can be found right beside ponds, streams or puddles.

Some more dancing Daisy Stars.

The series you can see in this blog entry shows some images of New Zealand's well known geothermal areas on the north island.

Boiling floors - New Zealand part XXIV

Surreal colors on the water surface. Just never forget to pay attention to the small things.

The reflection of a swallow hunting close to the surface of this mesmerizing colored pool.

The energy to heat up an entire lake like this must be just immense.

A little wonderland created by all the sediments of geothermal streams.

A fern leaf finally vanishes in the hot waters.

Looks actually pretty inviting, but I guess it's not a good idea to go for a swim.

Very well known pool, but nevertheless still also very fascinating.

The series you can see in this blog entry shows the second set of some rather mixed impressions I took on different locations along New Zealand's west coast.

Ancient views part II - New Zealand part XXIII

Dark waters embraced by extreme diverse vegetation.

Scattering coastal fog created a lovely atmosphere while we took a short rest along the way.

After days of rain, the skies finally cleared up.

Ancient worlds.

I don't know what actually causes this "wooden graveyard", but it was very fascinating to me, that it was surrounded by lots of living trees of quite different ages and that there was also this little creek running through all the fallen logs.

What a wonderful setting of silence and nativeness.

Rivers, streams and lakes are actually by far the best opportunities to get a little view into these extremely dense woods.
