Here we go! The relaunch of my website is finally live, and you can now browse through my images to your heart’s content and, much more easily, get in touch with me about all kinds of requests, send me inquiries, sign up for my newsletter, and so on.
I have no doubt that there are still one or two bugs to be found and ironed out here, but of course I’ll stay on top of that. If you happen to come across anything that needs fixing and let me know, please accept my thanks in advance. In the hope that most everything works smoothly and that the website is reasonably self-explanatory and easy to understand, I won’t say too much more about it. After all, this is primarily about the pictures anyway.
For the refreshment of my website, I’d like to serve a few rather fresh images, I took at the Gesäuse National Park. In spring and summer I spent quite some time there guiding nature photography workshops and some camps and where I tried to connect some teenagers and kids with nature as a ranger.
Although the Gesäuse area offers quite a bunch of stunning landscape vistas, never forget to pay close attention to the smaller things … You’ll also find this particular image in my Showcase.
After spending the day with a school class, I decided to look for fireflies in this clear summer night and was rewarded with some little light shows in front of Mount Ödstein.
This summer I was finally lucky enough to discover my first ever Alpine longhorn beetles on some very old, but still standing, deadwood, whcih is so crucial for literally countless species, like these spectacular and endangered insects.
Nevertheless there are two things I’d like to mention. Somehow, the website has evolved a little like a child growing up bilingual. It speaks English with one parent, German with the other, and every now and then the two somehow get mixed together. That’s admittedly a rather unorthodox approach in the online world, I suppose, but it’s how things have more or less naturally worked out for me. It makes sense to me, and I hope it does to you, too.
The second thing concerns the actual content of the site, my photographs. I find it genuinely difficult to choose images for specific purposes. So I’m going to be bold enough to admit that here, fully aware that in this business, this is often smiled upon and dismissed as either a weakness or a sign of arrogance. But especially when it comes to people’s interest in particular images, my experience has taught me that tastes and preferences can vary enormously. Which, of course, inevitably means that the number of images I’d like to share tends to grow rather rapidly. I’ve tried to find the best possible solution here, so that you can get a quick and easy overview, dive into specific subjects or series, or simply take your time and browse at leisure. So you’ll find a truly large number of photographs on this site, but I hope they’re organized and presented sensibly enough that even if you don’t have much time, you can still enjoy them.
My image „Shattery Shapes“ shows some layers of reed in the shallow waters of Slovenia’s Lake Cerknisko as the skies of the very early dawn relfect on the calm water surface.
Last but not least, I would like to happily point out on my most recent international success. The image, you can see above, was awarded at the Natural Landscape Photography Awards 2026 in the Intimate Landscape category. I feel really humbled and honored to be part of this selection, especially since this competition stands for an ethical and very authentic way of landscape photography, which conveys all the beauty surrounding us with dignity and in breathtaking images from a wide range of great photographers from all over the world.
