Natürliche Nähe - New gallery

Friday, 4 November 2022

Probably because of the fact, that I was hardly ever photographing my beloved wetlands for the entire year, I was able to go through the images I took for Natürliche Nähe in 2021 and the few I captured in 2022. And so it's finally time for one more temporary hidden gallery on my way to the long overdue major galleries update. This new Natürliche Nähe 2021/22 gallery is quite large and contains about 160 images from the floodplains around my hometown of Linz, Austria. Once again, I hope you enjoy and you also don't forget to take a look at my 2023 calendar (please find some more details below in my last blog post), which is also dedicated to these wetlands. And, as always, please do yourself a huge favor and view it on your desktop computer or notebook, thanks.

Natürliche Nähe - New gallery

The gallery, you will find using the link above, contains a rather wide range of subjects, like landscapes, ...

... wildlife encounters, ...

... like birds, ...

... insects, ...

... spiders and more.

And, of course, you'll also find details ...

... of the typical vegetation ...

... and numerous impressions of fascinating structures and moments.

Vivid wetlands - New gallery

Tuesday, 26 July 2022

In April this year I spent a few delightful days at the Donau-Auen National Park, to get to know the place better and to scout for some new areas and lovely places and also to work for my 6ute 6ründe exhibition, which currently can be seen at the gates of the Gesäuse National Park. For all the info regarding this, please drop by here on the website of Nationalparks Austria. Finally I returned with a handful memorable moments in mind from the Danube floodplains and, of course, a few images. So, in an other hidden gallery, called the 2022 Donau-Auen spring gallery, you can find some impressions of this trip.

Vivid wetlands - New gallery

Super soft morning light gently embraces tender spring foliage.

Reflections always attract me.

A mute swan surrounded by some midday glitter.

The fascinating scenery of reflecting reed and tons of cottonwood seeds on the water totally mesmerized me and I could have watched it all day long. So as this green sandpiper appeared I knew what kind of shot I would like to take and in the end I was quite happy, to catch the bird rather sharp and in an appealing pose.

An other mute swan piercing the seed covered golden surface of some wetland waters as the sun set.

Beavers definitely made an awesome comback in Austria and it's always exciting to spot one of these huge rodents.

Showcase update and fresh layout

Sunday, 3 July 2022

Finally I managed to do a major showcase update here on this website. As you will notice, I changed the layout and I will also provide some more info for every image. But I'm also working on a major update of my galleries and I will remove all the info you used to know and also the framing in the galleries in the future. All the showcase images now have an aspect ratio of 1x1 and a size of 930px on standard displays and 1860px on high-resolution displays. So, please make sure to view my work on your desktop computer and in full scale, maybe by using the full screen view (press f11 for that in most browsers). Enough said, everyone's invited to check it out and I deeply hope you like my refreshed portfolio.

Showcase update and fresh layout

You can see the new layout for horizontal format images ...

... and for vertical format images.

Beside the image title and a mostly short caption for every shot, you'll now also find some tech info and the year of origin, ...

... but not all details for the exact location, for obvious reasons.
