Gettin' ready for something new - New galleries

Right before 2023 is finally ready to take off and right before I will publish a so long over-due major update of my main galleries and project galleries, I'd like to invite you all to take a look at five more temporary hidden galleries, which contain lots of images, that finally won't make it to this website. You will find quite a mix of moments I captured in 2021 and 2022 in different parts of Austria while I was working on particular projects or while I was just out enjoying nature. More exactly these five galleries are the Liquids Souls 2021/22 gallery, the Limestone Alps 2022 gallery, the High Tauern 2022 gallery, the Alm Valley 2021/22 gallery and, last but not least, the Medley 2021/22 gallery.

I spent some pretty exciting moments with this rutting red deer bull hiding in the super high grass somewhere in Upper Austria's Alm Valley.
A heartwarming scenery, I witnessed in the Obersulzbach Valley wilderness area (IUCN category I) in the heart of the High Tauern National Park.
Gentle slopes, some first snow and a little spotlight up in the High Tauern mountains.

Since I'm running numerous workshops in cooperation with the Gesäuse National Park, I spent quite some time in the park in 2022, as I will also do in 2023. And although I take hardly any images during my coachings, I always scout the locations the day before and every now and then I also stay there for some more time after a workshop. So, today I would like to share my next temporary gallery, the 2022 Gesäuse gallery, which shows a bunch of impressions I captured during my days in Styria.
The national park is definitely an awesome place for wildflower lovers.
A chamois comfortably standing in a rather vertical wall of rocks, while I observed the animal through some green foliage.
Birches always make a great subject, even more, ...
... when the light adds some extra mood.
In late spring quite a lot of siberian irises can be found in these areas. Definitely a spectacular wildflower.
And in summer, the national park is a really great place to look for a wide range of different orchid species.
I deeply enjoyed the light display that I witnessed that day as a thunderstorm was actually on its way. And I also deeply enjoyed the appearance of all this small swamp birch trees wearing their spring foliage. And as finally this crow showed up, I knew I would like to go for this kind of a super small scale habitat image.

Workshoptermine 2023

Es freut mich, die Workshoptermine für das kommende Jahr 2023 verkünden zu können. Wobei sich die fixen Termine ausschließlich auf meine neun Kurse in Zusammenarbeit mit der Fotoschule Gesäuse beschränken. Alle anderen Workshops halte ich als Individualkurse ab. Abgesehen von meinen Liquid Souls Coachings, die nur im März und April möglich sind, sind bei den Individualworkshops kaum terminliche, zeitliche, thematische oder örtliche Grenzen gesetzt. Von kurzen theoretischen Bildbesprechungen nebenan bis hin zu mehrtägigen intensiven Fototouren, bin ich für vieles zu haben. Alle ausführlichen Infos zu den Workshops gibt's hier online und für Rückfragen stehe ich ohnehin jederzeit zur Verfügung.
Der oberösterreichische Almsee ist stets eine ausgesprochen lohnende Fotolocation und natürlich gebe ich auch anderswo gerne Tipps zur Einführung in die Astrofotografie.
Auch für Detail- bzw. Macromotive, wie diesen Wasserläufer aus meinem Projekt Natürliche Nähe kann man sich mit mir verabreden. Der Kreativität, im Rahmen authentischer Naturfotos, sind in jedem Fall kaum Grenzen gesetzt. Auch bei Sonnenschein ;)
Besonderes Augenmerk lege ich bei meinen Tieraufnahmen auf die Miteinbeziehung von Stimmungen und Lebensräumen. Auch dieses Bild einer Blauflügel-Prachtlibelle entstand in den Auen um Linz.
Ebenso ein Moment, wie ich ihn nahe Linz erleben durfte. Der Winter hat zweifelsfrei seine ganz besonderen fotografischen Reize und auch diese Zeit können wir natürlich gerne gemeinsam nutzen.
Seit einigen Jahren arbeite ich mit der Fotoschule des Nationalparks Gesäuse zusammen und hier kann ich mich bereits auf neun Veranstaltungen im nächsten Jahr freuen. Diese wunderbare Gebirgsregion eignet sich freilich sehr für Landschaftsaufnahmen, bietet aber auch abseits davon eine enorme Fülle an Motiven und Naturerlebnissen.
Der Frühling steht oft ganz im Zeichen der Blüte besonderer Pflanzen und Blumen, wie etwa der Schachbrettblume, die wild in Österreich kaum mehr zu finden ist, jedoch immer für ganz besonders bezaubernde Fotomomente sorgt, wenngleich die Blütezeit nur sehr kurz ist.
Wildlifefotografie ist selbst unter naturfotografischen Aspekten eine sehr unvorhersehbare Angelegenheit. Gerade dafür eignen sich aber persönlich abgesprochene Workshopeinheiten besonders, da die große Flexibilität bei der Umsetzung die Chancen für fotografischen Erfolg erheblich steigert. Beispielsweise stellt der burgenländische Seewinkel ein ausgezeichnetes Gebiet zur Vogelfotografie dar.
Auch in der Wildtierfotografie gehe ich in aller Regel spontan und intuitiv an die Sache heran. Die Verwendung von Hides oder eine lange Vorbereitung sind hier nicht zwingend nötig um ansprechende Resultate zu erziehen. Und auch hier kann, wie bei dieser Eisvogelaufnahme, ein Gebiet in nächster Nähe erfolgversprechend sein.
Wenn auch für diese Serie nicht ganz typisch, zeigt das Bild dennoch ein Motiv aus Liquid Souls, einem meiner begehrtesten Workshopthemen.
Selbstredend eignen sich die Workshops auch als Geschenksgutscheine und ich bereite gerne je nach Wunsch dazu etwas vor. Auch als Freund:innen, Kolleg:innen oder Paar wird mensch sich bei meinen Kursen wohl fühlen. Weitersagen erwünscht ;)
